Demian Guedes

Demian has extensive experience providing multidisciplinary legal advisory to both domestic and international clients, across a diverse range of economic sectors, with expertise in oil and gas, infrastructure, sanitation, construction, mechanical engineering, transportation, and defense. He advocates for his clients in complex litigation before Brazilian higher courts, in matter of public and private law. Also represents clients through strategic administrative disputes before audit courts, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and regulatory agencies.

In recent years, Demian has also served as an arbitrator in disputes across various sectors, working with both national and international arbitration bodies, including ICC.

Education

Ph.D. in Law from UERJ. Visiting Scholar at the Max Planck Institute. He teaches postgraduate courses and has lectured at the undergraduate level. Demian is the author of several books and articles on diverse topics in public and procedural law, including Authoritarianism and the State in Brazil (2016) and Administrative Process and Democracy (2007) among others.
